Which Pilates Person Are You?

Summer has its own rules. Routines go out of the window, diaries get rearranged, holidays happen, and sometimes your Pilates mat spends more time gathering dust than being used!

So as we head towards September, let's have a little fun...

Which Pilates person are YOU?

The September Starter
The September Starter

A. The September Starter

"Right. September. Fresh start. New routine. This is my month!"

You've got good intentions and you're ready to get back into a regular routine.

Maybe you've been busy over the summer, or perhaps you've simply been waiting for life to settle down a little.

Your Pilates personality:✨ Motivated✨ Organised✨ Ready for a reset

Your September challenge: Don't overdo it! You don't need to suddenly exercise five days a week. Choose something realistic that you can actually stick with.

Your mantra: Consistency beats enthusiasm.

B. The Summer Wanderer

"I've done some Pilates... I think. Somewhere between the beach, the BBQs and the ice creams!"

You've enjoyed a more relaxed approach to summer. Your usual routine has taken a bit of a holiday — and that's absolutely fine.

You haven't failed at Pilates. You've just had a summer.

Your Pilates personality:✨ Relaxed✨ Spontaneous✨ Probably still finding sand in your Pilates bag

Your September challenge: Don't wait until you feel "fit enough" to come back. Just start where you are.

Your mantra: You don't have to get fit before you exercise.

The Consistent One

C. The Consistent One

"I've kept my Pilates going all summer!"

We salute you.

You've managed to fit movement around holidays, visitors, hot weather and everything else summer throws at you.

But remember that consistency doesn't mean perfection. Missing a session occasionally isn't going to undo all your hard work.

Your Pilates personality:✨ Steady✨ Sensible✨ Quietly smug about still knowing where your mat is

Your September challenge: Maybe it's time to add a little something new — a new class, a new challenge or a little more strength.

Your mantra: Keep progressing, not perfecting.

The "I'll start when....." person

D. The "I'll Start When..." Person

"I'll get back into Pilates when the kids go back... when work settles down... when the weather cools down... when my back feels better..."

We know you.

There is always a reason to wait for the perfect time.

Unfortunately, the perfect time has a habit of never arriving.

Your Pilates personality:✨ Optimistic✨ Busy✨ Excellent at finding reasons to postpone things

Your September challenge: Don't wait for the perfect time. Choose a manageable starting point and let that be enough.

Your mantra: Something is better than nothing.

E. The "I Just Love Pilates" Person

"I don't need an excuse. I just enjoy how I feel afterwards."

You understand that Pilates isn't just about getting fitter.

It's that lovely combination of moving your body, concentrating on what you're doing, feeling stronger and having an hour where you're not thinking about everything else.

Your Pilates personality:✨ Movement lover✨ Mindful mover✨ Probably already booked September

Your September challenge: Keep enjoying it — and encourage someone else to join you!

Your mantra: Movement should feel good.

So... which one are you?

Perhaps you're one of these people or a little bit of all five.

( Spoiler, think I might be 5!)

And actually, there's no "right" Pilates personality.

Summer routines change. Life changes. Our bodies change. And sometimes the best thing we can do is simply start again without making a big drama about it.

September doesn't need to be about reinventing yourself.

It could simply be about finding one or two things that make you feel stronger, more mobile and more like yourself — and making them part of your week.

Ready for September?

Our September Pilates classes are now open for booking, with sessions for different abilities and goals.

Whether you're returning after a summer break, looking for a regular weekly class or completely new to Pilates, there's no need to be fitter, stronger or more flexible before you start.

That's what Pilates is for.
